Annual Report on Development of Folk Customs Released

　　The 2013 Annual Report on Development of Chinese Folk Customs was released by Cultural Heritage Academy of Shandong University in Ji’nan, Shandong Province recently. With the guidanceof an academic commission led by Li Songling, director of the National Folk Literary and Art Development Center, Ministry of Culture of China, the academy organized a number of experts and scholars to accomplish this report. It comprehensively reflects main trends and focus issues of Chinese folk customs’ development in 2012.

　　Paper Review of 1st Chinese Calligraphic Industry Summit Closes

　　Jointly hosted by Chinese Calligraphers Association and Guangming Daily and undertaken by Zhejiang University of Finance and Economics, the final paper review of 1st Chinese Calligraphic Industry Summit came to a successful close in Hangzhou. Themed "Inheritance, Development and Innovation", the summit is aimed at in-depth exploration and discussion on modern Chinese calligraphic industry’s current state and future direction as well as its cultural value and times connotation. It has received 207 papers from twenty-nine provinces, municipalities and Hong Kong since July, 2013. The summit will be held in Hangzhou in March and April this year and give awards to winners.

　　Manuscript of Socialism in China Donated to National Library

　　Beijing, January 16 (Guangming Daily) -- Yu Youjun, deputy director of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project Construction Commission Office of the State Council, donated his manuscript Socialism in China to the National Library on January 16. As the third volume of the series of books The Five-hundred-year Socialism, it was created by Yu from 2008 to 2010 when he read books in the National Library. The book described the Chinese history from "the May 4th Movement" in 1919 to early period of "the Great Cultural Revolution (1966-1976)".
