An amusement running contest kicked off in the main campus of Shandong University in Jinan on April 14, with the participation of more than 2,000 students at the three campuses in Ji'nan, Weihai and Qingdao on the same day.

    In Jinan campus, students ran double loop around the school yard; in Qingdao, a speed race and a running game for fun were held in the campus; in Weihai, participants ran a loop around the campus and the Majia Mountain, a landmark in the campus, was part of their route.

Fun games were planned along all the routes in three campuses, attracting students' participation in the amusement.

    The event was held to encourage college students to participate in physical exercises.

    As the first stop of a healthy running campaign launched by an alliance consisting of a group of higher education institutions in China, the event's opening ceremony also attracted the attendance of students from universities, including Northeastern University, Xi`an Jiaotong University, and Jiangnan University.
