In recent years, the research team of Shandong University has completed nearly 30 national and provincial key projects related to Beidou's satellite positioning system.

The team owns more than 80 core intellectual property rights, including more than 50 authorized invention patents, and has participated in the formulation of more than 10 national and industrial standards. It has also published more than 150 related academic papers.

Furthermore, the university has joined hands with other institutes to cultivate talents for the Beidou-based navigation system.

This year, the university has introduced a new major on Beidou New Spatio-temporal Technology and Application, the first of its kind in China.

According to the Global Navigation Satellite System and Location-Based Services Association of China, Beidou has been used in dozens of business and public sector fields in China, including transportation, electric power transmission, fisheries, mining and agriculture. Tens of millions of Beidou-based terminal devices have been sold and are currently in use.
