Shandong University signed agreements with Ohio University in the US in March to boost cooperation and exchange between the two universities, especially in the fields of medicine, nursing and economics.

Zhang Rong, president of Shandong University, met with members of the US delegation. Zhang hopes the two sides will establish more exchanges and cooperation mechanisms, and share experiences on issues such as alumni fundraising.
The US delegation discussed the cooperation possibilities in the sectors of scientific research and student training with Shandong University in fields of medicine, nursing, economics, literature and journalism, as well as political science and public administration.
Founded in 1804, Ohio University is located in Athens, Ohio. Shandong University and Ohio University established friendly relationships in 2000 and have jointly developed projects related to East Asian studies.
